Dr. George Williams

Dr. George Williams Mbogo attained basic training in Biomedical Laboratory Technology and a Master of Science in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology from Makerere University Kampala. He attained a postgraduate diploma in project planning and management from the Uganda Management Institute and later moved on to pursue a PhD in Pharmaceutical Biochemistry from La Trobe University and post-doctoral training in HIV antiretroviral therapy from the Burnet Institute, Melbourne, Australia. George is a member of the Australian Institute of Medical Scientists (AIMS) and the Global Young Academy (GYA). He has authored and co-authored over 10 scientific articles in the fields of molecular epidemiology, drug discovery, immunology, and virology. He has presented in >13 international conferences and is a La Trobe Nancy Millis Gold Medal winner for his PhD thesis.
George brings over 10 years’ experience in public health laboratory practice and BioTech entrepreneurship in Low and Middle-Income Countries along with Australian Clinical Pathology, Clinical Research and pharmaceutical industry experience from the Nucleus Network Ltd and Medpace Australia Pty Ltd. Currently, Dr. Mbobo is a Senior Research and Development (R&D) Associate at Incannex Healthcare Limited, where he contributes to the advancement and development of novel formulations for cannabinoid-based drug combinations from proof-of-concept to commercialisation. As a Philanthropist, he runs a not-for-profit organisation called BioTranslate International, to connect Africa to the rest of the world in terms of science and technology.
He brings his public health, research, academic and pharmaceutical industry expertise to the team to support end-to-end product development across the entire product portfolio.
