Nii Lantey Bortey

Senior Research Scientist & Program Manager

Mr. Nii Lantey Bortey (Masters of Public Health Administraiton – International Development, State University of New York) has over 15+ years of experience in research project management and design that has led to the implementation of HIV/AIDS and other public health and biotechnology projects in Africa and the United States.

His expertise includes human and community development, molecular technology, research, training, and strategic planning for non-governmental organizations, government institutions, faith-based and community-based organizations’ activities within U.S. Government funded programming.

In 2016, Mr. Lantey served as a United States Peace Corps Volunteer in Malawi as NGO Advisor for the PEPFAR DREAMS initiative. Prior to this, Mr. Lantey also worked as a Research Associate at Procter & Gamble.

He was responsible for investigating the genetic structure of various microorganisms, including E. Coli, and their potential modifications to increase their production of fatty acids. He regularly conducted clinical experiments/trials that sought to determine the efficacy of various P&G products, including dentifrices and mouthwashes, against a battery of different microorganisms.

Mr. Lantey has participated in many sustainable development conferences and workshops across East Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa.

His role as an advisor to the HIVQuant® Project enables him to bring to bear his vast experience in international development and biotechnology, and his proven track record of successfully leading and training teams engaged with diverse multilateral organizations and government institutions.
